Terms of Service
These terms apply when you browse our website, create an account, or order products from Boat Name Stickers UK.
Plain-language note: This page sets out our general business terms. It is not legal advice. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. Agreement to these terms
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you place an order applies to that order. The “Last updated” date above shows when these terms were last revised.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” means Boat Name Stickers UK.
2. Products and orders
We sell custom and premade marine vinyl stickers and related products for boats, jetskis and other watercraft. Many of our products are personalised to your design, registration details, font, colour or size selection.
An order is an offer to buy. We may accept, decline or cancel an order if there is an error in pricing or stock, if payment fails, if we cannot fulfil the order, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
Order confirmation emails and on-screen confirmations acknowledge that we have received your order. Production and dispatch begin after payment is successfully completed (unless we tell you otherwise).
3. Design accuracy and compliance
You are responsible for checking that the registration number, spelling, sizing, colour choice and other design details you submit are correct before checkout.
Our designers and product pages are intended to help you create compliant stickers, but you remain responsible for ensuring the finished product meets the legal requirements for your vessel and your state or territory. If you are unsure, check with the relevant maritime authority before ordering.
We manufacture to the design data you approve at checkout. If a product is made correctly to that design and you later realise the details were wrong, that is treated as a change-of-mind issue under section 6.
4. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable, unless we state otherwise. Shipping costs are calculated or shown at checkout.
We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout, which may include card payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other methods we enable from time to time. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers.
If a payment fails or is later reversed, we may pause production, cancel the order, or seek recovery of amounts owed.
5. Production and delivery
Production and delivery timeframes shown on the website are estimates. Most orders are made to order. Dispatch and transit times can vary depending on product type, order volume, courier networks and destination (metro vs regional/remote).
Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are delivered to the address you provide, or collected if you arrange collection. Please ensure delivery details are accurate.
If goods arrive damaged in transit, contact us promptly with photos and your order number so we can arrange a replacement or other remedy.
6. Returns, change of mind and UK Consumer Rights Act 2015
Custom-made products: Because most of our stickers are personalised or made to your specifications, we do not offer change-of-mind returns, exchanges or refunds for custom-made goods once production has started or the goods have been made correctly to your approved design.
This does not affect your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. If a product is faulty, damaged on arrival, not of acceptable quality, not as described, or incorrect because of our production error, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy depending on the circumstances.
To request a remedy, contact us with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos where relevant. We will assess the request fairly and in line with your consumer rights.
Premade (non-personalised) stock items may be considered for change-of-mind return only if unused, in original condition, and returned within a reasonable time we agree in writing. Return shipping for change of mind is usually at the customer’s expense unless we agree otherwise.
7. Cancellation
You may be able to cancel an order while it is still pending or early in processing, depending on how far production has progressed. Once cutting or manufacture of a custom order has started, cancellation may no longer be available except where required by law or agreed by us.
We may cancel an order if payment is not completed, if we cannot fulfil the order, or if we reasonably believe the order is fraudulent or unlawful. If we cancel before dispatch for a reason other than your breach, we will refund amounts you have paid for that cancelled order (less any non-refundable amounts already used where permitted by law).
8. Accounts and acceptable use
If you create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its security or operation, submit unlawful or infringing content, or use our services for fraudulent purposes. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
9. Intellectual property and customer content
All website content, branding, product images, software and design tools remain our property or the property of our licensors, unless otherwise stated.
When you submit design content (such as a registration number, boat name or other text/artwork for production), you confirm that you have the right to use that content and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. You grant us a limited licence to use that content solely to produce, deliver and support your order.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including courier disruption, extreme weather, or supplier interruption.
Where our liability cannot be excluded under UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, it is limited to the remedies required by that law. Where liability can be limited for goods or services that are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited (at our option) to resupply, repair, replacement, or paying the cost of doing so.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, where that liability cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any rights you may have as a consumer under UK law.
